Friends of Manlug

This page acknowledges those organisations who very kindly assist the group, all do so for no financial gain.

Manchester Digital Laboratory (Madlab) - meeting place

From 1994 - 2008 meetings had been held at Manchester School of Computer Science. After a reorganisation of the building in 2009 the University were unable to accomodate the group.

In 2010 we started looking for an alternative venue, Madlab in the Northern Quarter stepped up to assist us and provided a free meeting room, no charge has ever been levied.

Since February of that year we have predominantly met at MadLAB, it is an environment of learning and of like minded people. The staff will always go that extra mile to assist and are very friendly. They provide a pc projector each month and for a small charge beverages are available to lubricate the lively discussions.

Terrace NQ - meeting place

They have provided, sometimes at very short notice, a brilliant meeting room on the second floor. They encourage and support all local groups for free, the staff are always extremely friendly and the beer is top notch.

Castle Pub - meeting Place

On occasions we also meet at the Castle pub at 66 Oldham Street which is a ten minute walk away. We reside in the room on the ground floor behind the bar, there is wifi available.

Melbourne Hosting - website hosting

They have very kindly provided a virtual private server for our use over the last couple of years, they offer a range of hosting options that can be tailored to customers specific needs, from dedicated and cloud servers to colocation.
