Manlug meeting March 2005

19th March 2005

Commercial Wide Area Deployment of Linux

Mark Johnson

Summary

As a few of the regulars know, Mark works for a company that has a reasonable size Linux desktop installation (current number at approx 700) running the Debian Woody distribution, and thought it may provide some interesting material for a talk. Mark intends to cover the reasons why they did it, how the thing hangs together, their experiences with it and the future. If time permits, Mark may also outline some of the other uses of Open Source software within the organisation.
